can i shoot .22 magnum ammo out of my .22 LR?

I have a 1946 mossberg model 151M .22 LR and was wondering if i can buy .22 magnum ammo for it.i saw you can't shoot .22 LR in a magnum .22 but not the other way around.

can i shoot .22 magnum ammo in my .22 LR

    I would say yes, but I'm not completely sure. I usually shoot LR ammo from my .22 revolver, so I would think that it would work the other way around. Just to be sure, you might want to look on your rifle manufacturer's website. Could be some useful info on there. Best of luck.

    You could... but should you? Highly recommend against it, the mag is slightly larger in diameter and bad things could happen, they might not be immediately evident as in a frayed barrel but the damage will be done.
