What was the influence Europeans had on the New World?

And what was the contact like between them and the indigenous peoples?

I'm having a hard time finding it... So far I got that the Europeans savagely destroyed them

Yeah, because the New World was a magical land of fairies and unicorns until the evil white man showed up and destroyed it.

And just to let you know, in the late 900's AD, the Scandinavians discovered North America, about 500 years before Columbus' arrival. They set up villages along the eastern coast of what is now Canada. Want to know what happened to them? The native americans massacred them. That's why we don't give credit to them for the discovery, because after they were "savagely destroyed", there was no other European influence for another 500 years.

I hate people who somehow believe that the evil white man is to blame for everything that happens in the world. It's so racist. If it weren't for them, you wouldn't be sitting on your computer right now on the internet using your freedom of speech to type this question in the first place.
