We were given back a cat we gave away now we have big trouble with the others getting along.?

We have four--- a stray baby now that is 2yrs old and 3siblings 2 female and one male. All are neutered and spayed. We gave away one of the females at 4wks old--we now have her back now she is ten months. The older Female and the returned cat are NOT getting along it has been 4wks already and no lessening of tensions. we have tried lots of positive re-inforcement-nothing is working...Any ideas?

Sometimes they just don't like each other and you either let them fight it out and get the pecking order down or you get rid of the newcomer. Keeping them separated usually doesn't work with cats any more than corporal punishment would, they wait till you're not looking and do what they please then.
