Why do Conservatives think that all us paying the same tax RATE...?

is redistribution of wealth?

I just want the 1%ers to pay the same tax rate (percentage) as I do. No more, no less. Otherwise, it IS just a redistribution of MY wealth to subsidized theirs.

Why do people like Romeny get away with paying 13.9% and I as a middle class citizen have to pay 28%?

Update:

I know the difference between "income and capital gains and dividends." It the loopholes and tax laws that favor the wealthy that is simply unfair. Why do they get the breaks in taxes while the rest of us don't?

It's not that the wealthy should have to pay more in percentage but again, why do they get the breaks?

what YOU'RE referring to is called a "flat tax", and it is touted by most conservatives, it's you scum sucking leftists you scream about the rich "paying their fair share", which always works out to "more more more". the reason the uber rich like Romney (and Buffet) only pay 13.9% is because they tend to pay themselves VERY low salaries, and take the rest (a huge amount) as capital gains, which has a flat 13.9% rate regardless of amount! which you'd know if you ever actually studied the issue and didn't just rely of MSNBC and their lying weasel talking heads!

Rich people pay a lower tax rate because most of their income is investment income, so it's taxed at the capital gains rate.

The question isn't why are rich people paying a lower rate and it should be why are certain forms of income given a lower rate.

People say that a lower capital gains tax encourages investment but really isn't the allure of making money without doing anything enough encouragement?

Why should someone who lives off investment income and makes $200,000 a year pay $30,000 in federal taxes while the guy who gets up everyday and works 40 hours a week to make $200,000 pay $56,000? What makes the first guy so special that he gets to keep more of his income?

Income is income. It should be taxed at one rate without special exceptions for certain types of income.

Essentially that tax rule was written by rich people for their own benefit.

It in elementary terms works in case you simplify and rewrite the tax code. in view that Obama has completed no longer something to handle loopholes or deductions - we will would desire to anticipate he has no interest in paying extra in taxes. Neither do any of the folk in Congress, liberal or conservative. we've shrink militia spending approximately $a million Trillion over the subsequent 10 years. reducing extra could have a severe impact on jobs, yet hi, lay off each and all of the contractors and we will in simple terms %. on the unemployment rolls.

They are all for the flat tax when it will make poor people pay more and rich people pay less. Once you bring in the preferential capital gains rate, they have to reconfigure their argument. So be prepared to wait awhile.

Conservatives love it that the tax structure is rigged in favor of the very rich, why would they change it?

If you had the same investments you would pay the same rate. From what you say the rich should have a tax cut because they pay more than you do.

You again are mixing facts. Do you think you should pay 28% on your investments, after you have paid 28% on earning the money. I think not.
