Wow. Has anyone else noticed that for the last two days we've been able to edit our own answers?
and not some random other users ones?
That's a step in the right direction isn't it?
So well done Yamster...I suppose.
Okowhosey.
I am pleased for you that this very distressing and disturbing glitsch did not affect you personally. For others of us though it happened frequently over the past few weeks. I NEVER took advantage of the situation to do anything dishonest or unprincipled. I ALWAYS informed people in the edit space of what had happened and assured the original poster that I had done nothing untoward with their words.
What did happen every time though was that my own answer disappeared.
oh and btw: You're SO rude!
For Okowhosey's edification:
http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al...
You will note I was unable to raise even a reply from an actual Yahoo staffer on the issue.
I did NOT click the edit function on another users answer. It is not possible to do that as the edit function only appears to you under your OWN answer.
Please ensure you have your facts straight and your head is extracted from your ar$e before replying to another user in such a hostile and unhelpful manner!
Just in case any revisionist editing happens. Okywhatseys answer originally was:
"You could ALWAYS edit your own answers. Any one who edited ANOTHER person's answer should receive a violation notice. Just because you accidentally clicked the Edit button on the wrong answer does NOT grant you the right to edit another person's answer because of a programming error."

Yep. I got a reply from them on this e-mail address:
Yahoo! Answers Team <y_answers_team@yahoo.com>
and this was their reply this morning:
Hello,
We've been working on it and have received word that this is apparently solved. Could you please help us by testing a couple more answers by editing them and let us know the outcome
Thanks a lot for your help.
Cheers,
Yahoo! Answers Team
Anyway, I clicked my own damn button, started editing & hit submit. I look at the page, and it was added on to somebody else's words...so screw anybody who thinks I should be violated for Yahoo's error.
I didn't do it on purpose & could not undo it. I e-mailed the Yahoo! Answers Team & they did a fix & then asked me to retry editing the same person's answer...this went on for about 3 tries...on THEIR say so to edit it...
Anyways, I think the dark edits are done....keep this e-mail address for future issues with glitches.

I lost a point 7 account a number of months in the past. I had no warning and it were greater beneficial than 3 weeks considering that I even had a contravention. there replaced into no rationalization as to why and that i've got not the slightest theory what introduced on it. the indisputable fact that there have been no violations around it tells me it got here from the Yahoo artwork tension. there replaced into not something to grant them a trend. I merely laughed and moved to a backup account.

The bugfix was applied 2 days ago ive read. If you see that glitch reappear - please say something on the Suggestion board so the engineers can look at it more. But it "should" be fixed (as well as a few other things).

Sure wish I had known about that. I would have been one answer editing maniac. Don't think it actually happened here in the US though. Seems like I would have noticed something like that.
