When you speak to people about Christ, what scriptures do you use? Do you carry a Bible or the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit brings the Scriptures to your remembrance. They are symbiotic, the Spirit illuminates the understanding and will give you the appropriate scripture for the individual/s concerned.

I carry both. The scriptures I use for basic evangelism is Romans 3:23; 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9, 1John 1:9, John 14:6 and John 17:3. Now if I am trying to relate to them on a more personal level then I will use a scripture that will have to do with their current situation in life.

Know the Bible, have the Holy Spirit with you. Without those two (especially the second one) you're screwed and will do more damage than good. I usually tell people how God has changed my life. I'm a totally different person now than I was before coming to know Christ! As far as good scriptures go, look up the "Roman's Road to Salvation." It uses a bunch of verse form Romans in explaining our need for God. However, in today's pop culture, most people will refuse to believe something unless they can see immediate benefits. In these cases, I like to use Psalm 73:26 and the hope that God gives me every day.

I have bits and pieces of scripture and ideas in memory. The holy Spirit helps to put together those ideas into full thoughts that I can use when the time is right. It's mostly a guiding, I think. I check myself and reference with blueletter Bible site.

I use the scriptures while being guided by the Holy Spirt. Hebrews 4:12 states that For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and their marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart.

God's word is able to touch the hearts of those I talk to with the bible not my words.

nope i am not religious and i truly believe it is wrong to try and force your beliefs on others as they have the right to educate themselves on religion if they choose to.
