Hosea 6:2

After two days will he revive us: IN THE THIRD DAY HE WILL RAISE US UP, and we shall live in his sight.

Jonah 1:17

Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And JONAH WAS IN THE BELLY OF THE FISH THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS.

Matthew 12:40

For AS JONAS was THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the whale's belly; so shall the SON OF MAN BE THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH.

According to Jewish law, our Friday is the 6th day of the week and the day on which Messiah was crucified?

Many people try to say Messiah was crucified as early as Wednesday to solve the mystery as to how he could be in the heart of the earth for 3 day and nights?

>

Jude 1:10

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: BUT WHAT THEY KNOW (( NATURALLY )), as brute beasts, IN THOSE THINGS THEY CORRUPT THEMSELVES.

Naturally we understand there to be 24 hrs. in 1 day divided between 12 hrs. of light and 12 of darkness in most parts of the world?

According to the bible it was 12 hours in one day in that region?

John 11:9

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day?

So if not NATURALLY, how was Messiah in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 nights with in 48 hours?

Update:

@ Visual: Even if we do that we will still be short as by it is in the bible that Christ rose very early BEFORE the brake of DAWN, the women arriving at his tomb at dawn but he was already up and gone while it was still dark, that would mean he was already risen before Sunday Morning: Matthew 28:1 / John 20:1

Update 2:

None of the answers is right: Messiah said by the mouth of the prophet: "My thoughts are not yours" He was in that body after he was anointed 3 years of which he began to take on the sins of the world during his ministry..........Another prophet said: "Each day was apointed unto Messiah for a year" So prophetically, 3 year after being anointed he was in the heart of the earth which was that body he walked around with in, it was earthly and he was in the heart of it. Therefore for the 3 years of his ministry, his words unto them were SPIRIT and LIFE ( Jn 6:63 ) and for 3 years he was REVIVING them with his words of life and in the 3rd year that came forth by the gift and out pouring of the holys spirit and lived and reign with him in his sight.....That's the REALITY of the thing......That natural of it which none of you have figured out is: 1) True Jewish days began with the Eve then the Morn. 2) But that knowledge along wont help you to solve the mystery of the

Update 3:

3 days and nights. 3) The mystery of it is: On Fri. it was light from 6PM- because the Eve begans the day and no the Morn, so it was light from 6 PM - 9PM, at 9 it began to dawn and by 12 noon it was darkness all over the land ( Matt.27:45 ) So already it's 1 day and 1 night with in 6 hours.

At 3 or the 9th hour it was light again ( Zec. 14:7 ) So now in fri alone is 2days and 1 night......At 6 towards the Sabbath it was dark , so now 2 days and 2nights with in 12 hours. All night on the Sabbath makes 3 nights, then all day on the Sabbath is 3 days, he rose before the dawn of the first day of the week, so he was in the grave 3 days and 3 nights without counting Sunday pr the 1st. day of the week.

When Jehovah gave his people the law concerning the Day of Atonement, he said: “You must do no sort of work on this very day It is a sabbath of complete rest for you. From evening to evening you should observe your sabbath.” (Leviticus 23:28, 32)

This command reflected the view that each day began in the evening, after sunset, and ended at the subsequent sunset. For the Jews, the day thus ran from evening to evening.

This method of counting days followed the pattern set by God himself. The account concerning the first figurative day of creation states: “There came to be evening and there came to be morning, a first day.” The successive “days” are also counted in the same way, beginning in the “evening.”

The Jews were not the only people to reckon days in this way. The Athenians, the Numidians, and the Phoenicians did likewise. The Babylonians, on the other hand, considered sunrise to be the beginning of each new day, while the Egyptians and the Romans reckoned their days from midnight to midnight, as is the modern custom.

Present-day Jews, however, still begin and end their Sabbath observance at sundown.

First I am a Taoist not a Christian, but I believe you can achieve enlightment through many methods. The moral of the 7 major religions is really the point, and that is to be as righteous as you can, and you will go on. Not Brown nose and bribe, you know The Ten Commandments type stuff.

The Bible states on the 3rd day Jesus rose (will rise) again, so to be crucified Friday, down the second day (Saturday), rose the 3rd day, Sunday. This would include the night. The 2 women that went to his tomb got there about Dawn, the tomb was open, Guards were gone and no body, at dawn is when Jesus appeared to them, and how long should it take to resurrect, it isn't a hospital. The book is intended to confuse and break down your earthly logic to make have faith, hope, (motivation) in Good easier, but not to do the work for you. Mankind was on trial during the Crucifixtion, "Father Forgive them, etc." it's the third trial of mankind, and probably the last, next time were done for. Basically our life here is a test.

To measure the day they had meant 12 hours of light and 12 hours of day (similar to our morning which starts at 12:01 AM, when measureing in weeks or months). They also used a 10 month calendar of equal amount of days (Daylight savings and Leap year had not been invented yet).

What does Jonah or Jonus have to do with the Crucifiction.

The Bible says you have to be Righteous to enter with the Creator, you don't have to believe in Jesus, just a wrathful, vengeful, jealous, zealous Creator, and respect him and his Commandments

By the way when Jesus Died the Ground also opened up (some religions say that the earth was Split into 2, and only held together through Realms)

The confusion here is that Scripture does not identify the day of crucifixion as being a Friday. It was the preparation day before an annual sabbath, and not the weekly sabbath. People have read Scripture where it said preparation day, and out of ignorance, concluded it was a Friday.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. - John 19:31

This high day annual sabbath, if it were on a Thursday, makes all the timetable work for three days and three nights in the order of three nights and three days.

    Pretty sure the Jews counted 1)Friday, 2)Saturday, 3)Sunday. So Sunday's the 3rd day. Would've been 2 nights.

Poor math! If I won a three day trip to a resort and the desk clerk said I had to check out early Saturday morning I'd say: WHAT?

The Jewish reckoning of a day wasn't from mid-night to midnight. It ended at 6 PM. And as we see in other places in Jewish literature, they considered a segment of a day as a day. Now if you do the math with this in mind (which I'm too lazy to do right now), it indeed comes out to three days in their understanding of a "day."

    1) Easter Sunday: How do you get 3 days & nights between Good Friday & Easter Sun. total of 48 hr.?

    You don't.

    2) Hos 6:2

Agrees with ALL of the Biblical accounts - which teach that Jesus rose **during the third day** or (more commonly) **on the third day**.

    3) Jon 1:17 / Mat 12:40

    Unrelated prophecy.

    4) Naturally we understand there to be 24 hrs. in 1 day divided between 12 hrs. of light and 12 of darkness in most parts of the world?

    No. That is not accurate.

    5) According to the bible it was 12 hours in one day in that region?

No. John 11:9 is referring to **the manner in which time was kept**. The practice of the time was to divide **the daylight hours** into twelve divisions, based on the position of the Sun in the sky. So: "twelve hours in the day" meant "twelve time periods" - not "twelve periods each of exactly 60 minutes length, meaning 720 minutes in each day".

    6) Even if we do that we will still be short as by it is in the bible that Christ rose very early BEFORE the brake of DAWN, the women arriving at his tomb at dawn but he was already up and gone while it was still dark, that would mean he was already risen before Sunday Morning: Matthew 28:1 / John 20:1

Well...that depends on how you define "morning". Though we can say with certainty that Jesus rose before sunrise on Sunday, it seems likely that he rose during dawn on Sunday - certainly Sunday morning by our reckoning. Remember: "Sunday morning" in our reckoning starts at midnight. Certainly Jesus must have risen *after* midnight - that is, sometime early Sunday morning.

Mat 28 reads "as it approached dawn" - it would (naturally) already have been light enough to walk, though not the full light of day or sunrise - that is, just before sunrise, something like "nautical dawn". They would not travel in the darkness of night! **After** they left - that is, after there was light in the sky - the earthquake occurred and the stone sealing the tomb rolled away. It seems likely that Jesus rose from the dead **at the time of the earthquake** - though admittedly that is an inference.

John 20 agrees with that description completely. "It was still dark" - yet they "saw the stone already taken from the tomb" in a garden/graveyard that lacked artificial lighting. They must have undertaken their short journey during dawn - when there is enough light in the sky to allow one to see objects, but still dark enough to see stars in the sky.

Greetings, dear brother, and Happy Resurrection to you and yours! : )

There are so many mixed up matters in this present age of darkness... as the Apsotle wrote: "the whole world lies in wickedness"

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God IS COME, and has given us AN UNDERSTANDING, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

    (1Jn 5:19-20 KJV)

Also, concerning the Resurrection... this passage came to my heart to share:

"And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."

    (Luke 20:34-36 KJV)

In these very words of Christ: "...they which shall be accounted worthy to OBTAIN THAT WORLD, AND the Resurrection from the dead..." the word for "that world" is (as you probably aleady know) the greek word αἰών "aiōn"

    Thayer Definition:

    1) for ever, an unbroken age, perpetuity of time, eternity

    2) the worlds, universe

    3) period of time, age

Also...(Glory be to His Hallowed Name) The sons of God are the sons of the Resurrection! : )

"Nor can they die any more, for they are equal to the angels, and are the sons of God, being the sons of the resurrection."

    (Luke 20:36 MKJV)

    Much love to you always

Source(s): I long to know Christ and the power which is in His resurrection, and to share in His sufferings and die even as He died; in the hope that I may attain to the resurrection from among the dead. I do not say that I have already won the race or have already reached perfection. But I am pressing on, striving to lay hold of the prize for which also Christ has laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not imagine that I have yet laid hold of it. But this one thing I do--forgetting everything which is past and stretching forward to what lies in front of me, with my eyes fixed on the goal I push on to secure the prize of God's heavenward call in Christ Jesus. Therefore let all of us who are mature believers cherish these thoughts; and if in any respect you think differently, that also God will make clear to you. (Php 3:10-15 Weymouth NT 1912)

Christians automatically assume that Friday evening to Saturday evening is the ONLY sabbath Jews have. It's an ignorant assumption. It's a lazy assumption. It's an assumption made by Christians too lazy to do just a little research. Just sit back and swallow whatever Kool-aid their pastor feeds them. Never ask what's in it.

Well guys... there ARE other sabbaths Jews keep aside from the infamous seventh day one that is general knowledge. One such sabbath occurs directly after the holiday of Passover. It's called the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It happens as soon as the sun sets on Passover. This sabbath can occur ANY day of the week (think of it like Christmas), and in the year that Jesus died, it came on a sunset Tues. and ended sunset Wednesday. Jesus is called the Passover Lamb, right? You know why? Because he died on Passover day. That evening began the first day of another holiday called the Feast of Unleavened bread and that day was a High Sabbath (Jn19:31), so Jesus was taken down from the cross before that SPECIAL sabbath arrived Wednesday evening.

    So, here's the math:

    Wed night --- one night

    Thursday---one day

    Thursday night---two nights

    Friday--two days

    Friday night---three nights

    Saturday---three days

Since most Christians understand that the eve of one day begins the next in Judaism, then there should be no problem for them to understand that Saturday night--or sunset Saturday--began the first day of the week, Sunday. Jesus could have risen at anytime after sunset Saturday.

There you have it. No magic. No mind games. No algebra. Not even a "it's a miracle, goddunit". Just a little research into Jewish holidays. Just clarifying what kind of sweetner is in the kool-aid.

Jeshuah did not enter hell until he was reborn again in the soul of the third person of the trinity. Jeshuah could not enter hell until then, as he is without sin. The three days and three nights were complete when the spirit dwelling in the soul, entered hell to retrieve the one whom the adversary had snatched.
