Any sage advice after you've been judged unfairly at work?

My boss was vying for a promotion and he seemed to think going after me was a good idea. I've been somewhat supported by my workplace and I still have my job, but am trying to figure out how to handle this. Eventually, I'll leave. Can't afford to do that now.

    1. Document everything. You may be able to add a rebuttal to his accusations for your personnel file at some point.

    2. Never, ever, complain about what he has done to you, no matter how outrageous or unfair. Instead, complain about how he has damaged THE ORGANIZATION. That way your complaint is not about self pity or revenge, but about everyone's common concerns.

    3. Take care of yourself! This stuff can take a huge toll psychologically but counselors can help.

    4. Don't waste your time trying to get support from the company omsbudsman, HR, etc. They are paid by your employer and they know what side their bread is buttered on.

If what your boss is doing IS NOT in his/her job descriptions, nor yours, then I would suggest to take it up with his boss.
