mechanic promises to fix car but never does?
Had my car in the shop for a head gasket fix and its been one month and 2 days as of now. He never keeps me updated and the most he has done is take everything apart and he has every part he needs to do the repair. I been promised 5 times that it would be done on a date and then on that day theres another excuse. I paid him half the job up front. Can I have my vehicle towed out of his shop?

I would call and get a firm date. If it's not finished by that date, tow it out and get your money back. Any reputable shop would not treat a customer in that manner.

You can have it towed out but you'll lose your money. I would demand my money back and then have it towed. If he complains, threaten to sue for loss of use. If he says he'll finish the repair, have someone else there with you to witness the statement and hold him to it.
