Christians, what do you think of autistic people?

Update:

I am so glad to see that there are positive opinions here. You see, I have an autistic relative and he wants to become a christian. I was worried for him, so I did a little research (as you can see).

For those of you who said negative things (chained and beaten?) I hope you were joking. If you weren't, then SCREW YOU!

Well, I have an autistic cousin. And I love him to death. I wish i could be around him more, but i cant. I am a christian. Life happens, and we aren't genetically perfect anymore, as to what I believe, so I guess its a shame, but I can only hope that happiness is found for him, since he cannot find it on his own.

? What do you mean? A person isn't less human because of any disabilites which they have to endure. A genius may become senile in his later years. Someone who is suffering mental problems due to addictions may later be cured. A rich person can become poor, and a poor person may become rich. A life scenario doesn't change the value of a person's soul. God says we look on the oustide, but He looks on the inside. Remember that God is able to heal the broken. When Jesus comes, we will no longer have to suffer with these problems. Evil, disease...etc... is a natural consequence of being separated from God, who is the Source of Goodness, Truth, Love, and Life.

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

    -John 9:1-2

Applying this, I believe autistic people are here for the glory of God.

Strictly speaking for myself, I'd like to have them all chained up and beaten.

    Are you serious?
