College caused me to dislike christianity.?

ok world religion, OT ,and now this semester NT. The more i actually study the bible. I mean actually critically learn and memerize the bible the more it hurts that i ever took it seriously. Have any christians actually studied the bible or do you just listen to the preacher. Reading The bible is like letting crazy people run free from the asylum. Who agrees?

I'm not religious, never have been, but I went to a catholic school and I know what you mean - the more you look at the Bible, the more barbaric things you find, and the more contradictions you see.

Never did pluck up the courage to ask my RS teacher why people felt they could pick and choose what teachings they took from it. I mean either its your holy book - written by god through man, or its not, right?

We can only understand and appreciate God's Word, through God, as He reveals it to us. Still we can choose to refuse God and His teachings that is our choice, and He loves us so much that He gave us that choice. Still brute memorization does not make one a good Christian. We have to walk with Christ daily, and I mean walk with Him, not symbolic but truthfully. I have seen Him and the Holy Spirit at work, so I can't deny Him, will not deny Him. I wish you the best. Just to warn you for future harm, without God, is without life, and that is a dangerous place to be.

I too was a believer for many many years until I decided to find out for myself. I came to the same point that you have. The world looks better now that I don't have anyone to blame stuff on.

I've seen polls from Christian sources that say about 10% have read it from start to finish. Frankly, I'm surprised it's that high.

I'm glad you learned something in college. Most don't!
