why does minecraft run so slowly on my computer?
i have an i7 2.2ghz processor, a 2gb amd radeon hd 6790m graphics card, and 8gb of ram, and it only runs at 20 fps!

These problems are usually caused by malware, or viruses. Run a full scan with you antivirus system. Another cause might be that you downloaded a mod for minecraft. Mods are potentially harmful, they might contain viruses as well. Try deleting the mod and see if that helps.

I have an i5 Dual Core Processor with 2.4Ghz, Intel 3000 HD GFX, and 4 GBS of Ram, it runs pretty well. I never get lag even with a bunch of mods or any texture pack. I'm running it on a MBP so I don't get any viruses or what not. Scan your laptop, make sure there is no viruses or malware, and open up the task bar menu or what ever it's called. (CTRL, ALT, DEL) and close any unused program.

you have twin-middle CPU yet its in basic terms 2.3GHz video games like MW2 understand the thank you to apply 2 middle. Minecraft understand the thank you to apply in basic terms one middle. additionally minecraft is greater CPU in intensity by fact it renders all blcoks even those you will not be able to work out like those underground. Google Opti-high quality and get carry of the version the facilitates minecraft to apply 2 cores or greater that is going to run greater useful.

20FPS is normal on any computer. Change the view distance to tiny
dont be a jerk and thumbs my comment down because what I said is true. If you change the view distance to tiny you will get huge boost in FPS
