Fancy feast facts for school?

Your cat likes it best because it's very high in fat and sodium, and very low in nutrients. Fancy Feast, like most grocery store cat foods is basically like McDonald's for cats. Yummy, fattening, and terrible to eat on a daily basis.

Pretty much any brand that can be purchased at a pet supply store is nutritionally complete, such as Eukenuba, Hills Science Diet, etc. Basically, the more boring the packaging and product looks, the better for them it probably is.

For your project, you can try comparing the nutritional information of the Fancy Feast against one of the pet store brands. I believe either the Los Angeles Times or the Huffington Post did a story about a year ago comparing nutritional info on about 25 brands of cat food and rated them. It should be easy to find online. The meat is poor quality scrapings from the slaughterhouse floor - ground up beat, feet, etc.

It's been subject to recalls.
