To those that want to change the definition of marriage how about this one?
Marriage an exclusive agreement to be sexual partners, the person that breaks the agreement voids the agreement and forfeits all rights to marital property.

i think you mean the agreement to be exclusive sexual partners, but the agreement does not seem to include combining property to begin with, or the criteria or responsibility for children. I think it is pretty weird to get married if you are not going to combine property or raise children anyway. There are other issues normally solved by marriage, such as who can see you in the hospital and make decisions for you, who gets your body (and maybe your stuff) when you die.
I am appalled that people seem to need government certification and threats to their property to keep a promise of sexual exclusivity alone. A promise so simple is just a matter of being the sort of person who keeps their word... Though if statistics are right, about 75% of men and about 50% of women are not the sort of people who keep really big promises to people they especially care about. hmmm

Marriage has been defined by thousands of cultures across history and our definition only matches less than 17% of those definitions. Even in our own culture, "traditional marriage" is less than 200 years old, i.e. marrying for love has only started to be the major reason for marriage in the last 200 years.
Simply put, our idea of "marriage" is a fabrication and not an absolute constant.

If you're asking from a Christian perspective, just look back at the 6 steps of the Jewish wedding and you can get a basic idea of how a marriage was defined during the time of Jesus Christ.

No one is changing the definition of marriage. Christians, however, are trying to make it seem like they have the monopoly on marriage, and that they can dictate what people get to have access to it or not.

You and your twisted definitions suck.
Does sucking also void the marriage?
