What is a reasonable price?

I might be looking for someone who can come to my house at 6:00 and wait until 7:00-7:30 to wake up my 2 kids, get them dressed and drive them to daycare, that's a mile away? This would just be the mornings. What should I pay for something like that? I was thinking like a $20 gas card and $40 cash a week. Does that sound reasonable?

Update:

I'm hoping to find someone I trust that is not working because this person would have a key to my home and would have the daycare people call me if they don't arrive by a certain time. Thank you for the suggestion on the gas card.

I would say go for minimum wage. In NC that's $7.25 (I don't where you are from so it may be different). If you needed someone for an hour and a half, five days a week that would be a total of $54.25. I would round it up to $55, or if you are feeling generous $60.

As far as the gas card goes, I would opt out of that. Your only asking them to drive a mile up the road to the daycare so it's not like they will really be using a lot of gas. Just make sure that you include in the job description that they will be required to transport the children back and forth to daycare, using their own car.

so you're looking at an hour and a half five days a week. total of 7 and a half hours weekly. let's say you pay them 8 $ an hour. that's exactly 60$. I'd say that's reasonable. but i don't think I'd go for that gas card thing. that's like your boss telling you how you have to spend a third of your paycheck. It's a turn off. Otherwise, a solid plan... if you can find someone who doesn't have any kids of their own, doesn't work in the morning, and is reliable enough to be left alone IN A CAR with your children. a tall order.

Our Dane Athena used to run beside us once we had been using our horse-cart and he or she mainly went with us on walks. Our drives might be for approximately a max of three miles, and he or she continually looked as if it would find it irresistible. (We misplaced her to center and kidney failure on the age of 10 years.) Now, Athena used to be a whole-grown Dane in her top, now not a dog, in healthful situation and on the time had no joint or skeletal issues. The horse/pony might stroll and trot and we would provide the puppies time to relaxation, however most commonly they did not want it. Our male Dane infrequently went for a stroll, however he had come from an abusive dwelling and used to be certainly not as lively as our feminine. Still, he loved occurring walks, as does our present Dane. Get your vet to verify Ruby out very good. Even if she has just a little arthritis, our vet instructed us that mild recreation might be well for it. If she already has a major degenerative situation or a center situation, nonetheless, you would now not be capable to run together with her. Only a vet might inform after a radical comparison.
