Do you think this verse from the Holy Book is accurate?

But wo unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world. For because they are rich they despise the poor, and they persecute the meek, and their hearts are upon their treasures; wherefore, their treasure is their god. And behold, their treasure shall perish with them also.

It's not much different from the Bible or the Qur'an.

Yes, it is accurate. Those who are rich but despise the poor and persucute the meek and set their hearts upon treasures will perish, and their treasure will perish with them also.

It doesn't say anything about the rich that help the poor and the meek, and the rich that do not set their hearts upon treasures - neither does the Bible say there is anything wrong with that.

The love of money is the root of all evil, not money itself. Being rich is not the problem, God gives us the ability to acquire riches so we will use those riches to feed the poor, clothe the naked, house the homeless, and grow the Kingdom of God.

Money is not bad. It is our attitude about it that counts. Money should be treated as a stewardship. God does not expect us to give away all that we have but he wants us to use what we have wisely. This does not only include money but includes our position, talents ans strength.

By the way, it is not only the rich that are puffed up but also the poor who want to take from others. There is enough pride to go around.

There were many well to do people in the scriptures. These include the apostle Peter and Abraham.

Sounds like someone in the 1800s trying to talk like the only Bible translation he had was the KJV and actually thinks that is how people 2,000 years ago talked or that angels and God speak like someone in the Elizabethan times. In other words, rubbish.

That said, the message is OK. The rich need to wear GPS monitors.

It is accurate. But you can be "rich" in things that pertain to Heaven also. This next scripture is also from the book of Mormon(Jacob 2: 17-20):

17 Think of your brethren like unto yourselves, and be familiar with all and free with your substance, that they may be rich like unto you.

18 But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God.

19 And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good—to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick and the afflicted.

Source(s): As you can see, rich people aren't all bad. I'm not rich myself. Jon Huntsman Sr. didn't start out rich but he was always generous with his money. Then when he was rich he was already in the habit of donating it to good causes and to those in need.

As accurate as anything else in the Book of Mormon

If that is from the Book of Mormon, there is a lot of hypocrisy there. Most of the hierarchy of the Mormon faith are very rich. Including Mitt Romney.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid keeps a copy of the Book of Mormon in his office just off the chamber floor. There's a second copy handy to give away to someone in need of spiritual guidance.

The Book of Mormon is very strong when it comes to peace as well, and many follow that, others do not.
