I am not sure how to spell this .. but im looking for information on a sore formed on the skin of a dog ..?

its called .. a histonoma ?? not sure of the spelling , but if you have had a dog with a sore or sores .. what treatment did the vet recommend ? My vet recommended triple antibiotic ointment or removal surgically. If you have any other natural remedy or suggestions I need a few .. surgery is too expensive at the moment .. my budget will not allow it.

Update:

the vet did a skin scraping . She did recommend surgery , but I am still paying for the emergency tail dock we had to have done on him .. he chewed part of his tail off Easter Night. I will try surgery once I pay the bill if I can not get the swelling down using the ointment or another herbal remedy. He is an American Bulldog mix .. and seems to have allergies. I adopted him in March. I have no other medical history on him because of this.

It's not a sore. It's a Histiocytoma which is a noncancerous tumor. I believe this is what you're looking for. Yes, in the past I had a dog that had one develop on his flank when he was 11 months old. It was removed and biopsied.
