What United States President do you think came into office with the greatest "left-over mess?

President Obama repeatedly claims he entered the office under dire situations. He had to "...clean up this mess..."

I believe a strong argument could be made that Bush II entered office under worse conditions than Obama. Our national security was already compromised leading to the World Trade Center attacks.

Just look at what Ronald Reagan inherited from Jimmy Carter!!

Who would have wanted to follow Woodrow Wilson? or the total mess FDR and Truman left behind?

Thank you for all your answers.

You are trying to use facts and logic on liberals, neither of which are relevant to most liberals.

its kind of like the claim by obama that 4,000,000 jobs were created, it sounds great until you factor in lost jobs, then it is actually a net loss on jobs.

Reagan after Carter was about as bad. FDR after Hoover was probably the biggest.

Anyone that excepts the Presidency excepts the "mess" that goes with it. They campaigned for it, it's theirs voluntarily.

  • It would have to be Lincoln.
