No, the reason why I don't believe the Bible is "the Word of God" is because I don't believe in "God" in the first place. Therefore, I don't believe he has an official memo. I similarly don't believe in "The sleigh of Santa Claus" for the same reason.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm not claiming that the mere fact that the Bible was written by men automatically means that God doesn't exist.

Well since I do not believe in a god or gods I believe "the word of God" is a myth. I only question the words in the bible when someone tries to use them as facts.

After all those things are mentioned in the bible and as YOU are trying to assume it should not be questioned.

I find it's usually theists saying that sort of thing; atheists would say the Bible isn't the Word of God because there is no God, so it wouldn't matter who wrote it or when.

There is no 'word of god' there is only man's interpretation of the word of god. God, never directly dictated to anyone (well maybe Moses, if you believe). The Bible is a reference for people who do believe, to reaffirm their faith. If faith in god is true, then there is no need to read the bible, execpt for answers to queries.

As for me, I was raised Christian, but disconnected from my faith when I was 16 (now 38). I still am part of a christian family, and am married to a theist man. I still read the bible sometimes. I don't hate anyone who is faithful, I just feel fraudulent, believing, myself.

The Bible isn't the actual words of God. It was written by men. I am deeply religious/spiritual and I don't believe in the Bible. There are too many mistakes and contradictions in it.

I'm a Christian and I know that many atheist used to be of the faith until they started to try and apply all earthly knowledge to a spiritual book. It just does not work. They want tangible proof/evidence to support the bible. My proof is always the word along with my personal testimony.

Keep holding on the word is the word no matter what the atheists say...they will always find a way to attack you but there will be a great reward for he who stands with God in the face of persecution.

Didn't Jesus toss the Old Testament in the Garbage Can when He wrote the New Testament
