Has anyone tried the Dukan Diet?

Question

I have arthritis in my feet and my doctor has advised me that I need to loose weight, no surprise there as I am very overweight.  In the past I have tried Weight Watchers (gained weight!!!), Slimming World (OK but gained once stopped), private diet coach (hated every minute!!) I have only once in my life managed to loose a significant amount of weight and made myself ill in the process because I did it too fast.  So my doctor suggested the Dukan Diet.  I have never heard of it but looked at the website and found that you have to pay £200 for the plan.  So before I fork out that amount of money I want to know if it is worth it, does it work and how easy is it to follow?

I bought the book but found it too hard to follow. You have to cook a lot of insane meals and it takes up a lot of time and money. Not to mention the basic steps are basically deleting carbs from your diet. I think the best way to lose weight is to eat healthy, drink a lot of water and, do some exercises.

What?! You don't have to pay £200 for the plan, my mum, nan and aunts all do it, all you have to do is buy The Dukan Diet book from supermarkets or Amazon!
