Where is all this supposed persecution of Christians taking place?

If you think a few atheists in R&S disagreeing with you, and sometimes calling you out on your trolling is evidence of persecution, you're making Jesus roll over in his... well forget that, he's not in his grave, is he? Anyway, I keep hearing how you're being persecuted for being Christians. Please share with me the harrowing details of your stories of pain and torture and persecution. I'd really like to hear how hard it is to be a Christian, especially in America.

Update:

Funny that I keep hearing about Christians being persecuted in Africa. Who is it exactly who's persecuting them in Africa? Roving bands of atheists? No, no I didn't think so. Don't label religious wars as persecution, please. Because by that standard, the Crusades were massive persecution of Muslims by Christians.

    Abuse is a form of persecution, so we who are Christians are indeed persecuted here on this site. I would appreciate being treated with respect and dignity instead of the derogatory name calling that goes on here. When God's people are disrespected, God is disrespected, too.

    There is something known as the persecuted church, and that is made up of fellowships around the world, some of which have had members who were literally martyred for following Jesus and living His way of life and love. There hasn't been a weekend that has gone by lately without the news reporting of hate groups burning down places of worship and murdering believers in Africa.

    There is an organization called Voice of the Martyr that you can find online to see what's happening in the persecuted church globally. http://www.persecution.com/

    @asker: I see you have not done any research into the persecuted church. Why is that? These are sufferings that are real and happen because people choose to follow Jesus and will let nothing stand in their way, even death.

    American Christians have not had to experience persecution to the point of physical torture and death, yet. But in other parts of the world Christians are routinely being hunted down and executed. Across Africa, India, and China, believers in Christ are faced with a zero tolerance attitude. It is only a matter of time for it to breach the shores of America. Isn't there increasing amounts of animosity towards Christians in open debates and in politics? The table is being set for persecution to become common place, it will only require the proper people to be in the right offices of power for it to become a reality.

    @Chris Landwerlen: I suggest that you reread the question. The OP was referring to claims of persecution in the US made by Christians. Those Christians should be the ones looking at the web site you refer to because many of them refer to themselves as 'persecuted', which I find offensive. For an american Christian to claim persecution from non-Christians is to diminish the very suffering around the world you are talking about.

    Because of the United nations anti-blasphemy law, people can no longer say that Jesus is the only true God or only way to God. some so called "Christians" are promoting a "universal" name for god which is "Allah". That way, they say, no one is offended. Truth is, no one wants to offend the Muslims but don't care if Christians are offended.

    Christians are also being chided for their anti-gay beliefs. Hey---the Bible says marriage is between a woman and a man.

    Christians are being arrested, thrown in jail and even killed for their beliefs. The persecution is real!

    In the USA, it is only happening in peoples imaginations. Many times the religious go out and try and start a confrontation and say persecution when the people turn on them.

    It's in CJ (isn't JC), as noted

    for them in 2Timothy 3:12...

    All who will live godly in CJ

    "shall suffer persecution"... OUCH.

    Reason: C-->J descends to J, and

    J = division = not peace: Lk 12:51.

    It's like descend from grace to law.

    JC ascends to grace = rejoice.

    CJ descends to law = wail.

    So in Philippians 3 The Apostle Paul

    cleverly turns CJ = suffer loss (law)

    around to JC = win Christ = gain (grace)

    C-->J folk are Jesus-ian.

    J-->C folk are Christ-ain

    In the vivid imagination of Christians. They see losing their Christian privilege as "persecution".

    I was forced to work Christmas, the only holiday that we are allowed to complain about where I live, I was told that people had the right to discriminate against me at one place I worked because of my belief system,all because I'm ....oh, wait its because I'm atheist and not allowed to claim religious discrimination because I don't have one.

    To Christians, to lust in your heart is adultery.

    So I guess what we think of them is persecution.
