If god created everything, than who created god?

Where did he/she come from?

Update:

I don't believe in god, I was just wondering if the religious people could answer this one.

Update 2:

God has to come from somewhere doesn't he? If he created the universe, than there had to be something before the universe. Can Christianity answer this?

Update 3:

@ MAQ - I thought Christianity had all the answers. This is a serious question.

Update 4:

The universe had to start somewhere. So in theory, god had to have created the universe from somewhere else. Or, he was created at the very same time as the universe. But, the latter can't be true because in the bible it says god created the universe.

Update 5:

I like to think that the universe is like the end of Men In Black where that alien is playing marbles with all of the universes. Maybe that's what god is like.

Update 6:

Oh, and MAQ, questions are not wrong, answers are.

Update 7:

@ Yorkshire Lass - "If it was discovered that 'something else' created God, you would be looking for something who created 'something else'! And so it would go on for evermore - ad infinitum! The buck has to stop somewhere." Exactly! This is why the whole concept is flawed.

This question is logically problematic. If everything needs a creator, than no matter what exists, it must have been created. Furthermore, to be created means that someone or something had to create it. But then, who created the creator and so on? Logically, this would mean there would be an infinite regression of creators (prior causes), and we would never be able to find the first uncaused cause, since by definition (the question says that "everything needs a creator") there wouldn't be any uncaused cause. This would mean that the sequence of creations is eternal. But, if it exists that there is an eternal regression of creators, then who created the infinite regression of creators? Remember, the question presupposes that all things need a creator -- even the eternal sequence of creators -- which becomes logically absurd. Furthermore, if there is an eternal regression of creators that are eternal, then the question is not answered. In fact, it cannot be answered, since its weakness is that "all things need a creator." Of course, this only begs the question in that how did the process begin? Therefore, the question only raises the same problem it asks, and it is a question that, by its own design, cannot be answered. Therefore, it is invalid.

The question is better phrased as a statement: "Everything that has come into existence was brought into existence by something else." This is a more logical statement and is not wrought with the difficulties of the initial question. In the revised statement, "Everything that has come into existence" implies that the thing that "has come into existence" did not already exist. If it did not already exist but then came into existence, then something had to bring it into existence, because something that does not exist cannot bring itself into existence (a logical absolute). This pushes the regression of creators back to what we would call the theoretical "uncaused cause" since there cannot be an infinite regression of creators as discussed above; and since an infinite number of creators would mean there was an infinite number of creations and created things, including things that cannot be destroyed since they would constitute things that exist. If that is so, then the universe would have had an infinite number of created things in it, and it would be full. But it is not full. Therefore, there has not been an infinite regression of creations.

By definition, the Christian God never came into existence; that is, He is the uncaused cause (Psalm 90:2). He was always in existence and He is the one who created space, time, and matter. This means that the Christian God is the uncaused cause, and is the ultimate creator. This eliminates the infinite regression problem.

Some may ask, "But who created God?" The answer is that by definition He is not created; He is eternal. He is the One who brought time, space, and matter into existence. Since the concept of causality deals with space, time, and matter, and since God is the one who brought space, time, and matter into existence, the concept of causality does not apply to God since it is something related to the reality of space, time, and matter. Since God is before space, time, and matter, the issue of causality does not apply to Him.

If it was discovered that 'something else' created God, you would be looking for something who created 'something else'! And so it would go on for evermore - ad infinitum! The buck has to stop somewhere - it stops at the Great Intelligent Spirit Being we call in a general terms - God. The different religions give Him what might be called a personal name.

God already said there were NO other gods besides him. So you can do away with the premiss of *who* created God. God is the Creator, not the "created." Can you count backwards to infinity and reach a 'beginning?' No, and neither can you God's existence. We're not dealing with physics or time here -- these aren't laws that govern or even apply to God. The universe obviously had a beginning; so you cannot apply its laws like 'time' to God. Eternity itself is an INFINITE span -- in ALL directions -- backwards and forwards. That is God's existence: Infinite. There was never a point in eternity where God "didn't" exist.

Psalms 90:2 - "Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."

Exactly, this is the BIGGEST fallacy that Christians (and all other theists) fail to recognize.

Their biggest argument that God exists, is well we're here aren't we? The Big Bang says that we exploded from nothing, so what caused it? Must have been a God right?

But then when you turn that around on their own God, all of a sudden something appearing out of nowhere makes perfect sense.

I asked this exact question and got no decent responses and you won't either.

    Edit:

No Christian takes any question that questions their faith as a serious question. They couldn't possibly do this, because if you ever start questioning your faith, then, in the words of Richard Feynman they would start sliding down a slope that is very difficult to recover from.

John 1:1-2, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." I'm assuming you're talking about the God of the Bible. . .its states that God has always been, He is the Beginning and the End. What I get from this is that no one created Him, He is infinite. . .our human minds will never fully comprehend infinity, therefore we cannot wrap our mind around how someone could possibly have "always been." Thats where faith comes in, you don't have to see it to believe it.

Well the Christians and most religious folks believe everything has to have a creator except god who has always existed. But these same folks will say (Scientists and Atheist who say the universe may have always existed) are completely irrational and stupid

No one can answer today, or ever. It's the biggest mind **** ever.

I want to believe, I really do. My mind is boggled. Logically it stands to reason that everything must have a beginning. It's easy to say, God created it but how did God get there. It's incomprehensible. The answer is impossible to find and as humans we have no capacity to begin to understand

    Dear Friend,

Your question itself is baseless. Because if God was created then he will not be God. (I know you want to ask that How God was created) . God has created our brain to think. But there is certain limit for us to think and understand. for example, he gave us two eyes to see but there is a limit. We can't see things which is very small and we cant see thing which is very far too. Like this God has limited our thinking power and capacity. Computer is very intellectual and it will give you answer for lot of things which is feed in it. It can't answer you for the questions beyond its limit.

In the same manner, your question is beyond human's knowledge.
