  • Connecting flight at Heathrow.?

I'm flying from Aberdeen to Amsterdam with a connecting flight at LHR. Will I have to go through security again at Heathrow? Both flights are with British airways and arrive and depart from terminal 5 at LHR. I'm assuming I won't have to since I was already through security at another UK airport (Aberdeen).

  • Narita airport T1 to Asakusa?

I need to get to Asakusa from Narita airport. I will have a suica card and I want to use the keisei main line. It looks like I have to transfer at Aoto. Which train should I take at Aoto? I've never traveled to Tokyo before and all the different lines are confusing.

  • Do I have to go through security and/or customs twice for a connecting international flight?

I have a flight from Philadelphia to Frankfurt and will connect from Frankfurt to Amsterdam. Will I have to go back through customs and security in Frankfurt? I have a 1 hr. 40 min. layover so I think that will be enough time regardless. I've never been in this situation for an international flight, and I've never been through Frankfurt's airport.

  • German language question.....?

What is the difference between "entschuldigen" and "es tut mir leid." I'm under the impression that entshuldigen is used when you want to get someones attention and es tut mir leid is used to apologize. Is this correct?

  • R.I.P Neil Armostrong...What did the moon landing mean to you?

Mr. Armstrong is a legend. He makes me proud to be an American. I was born in 85, so I wasn't around when he landed on the moon. He is literally why I have an interest in science and astronomy. I want to hear from people who remember the moon landing, and what it meant to them. What emotions did you feel as you were watching? What was it like as you were watching on t.v.? I wish I could have been there. Even if you weren't born yet, how has he effected your life? Thanks for your answers.

  • What is the point in believing in an eternal afterlife?

Humans need to die. Living eternally is the biggest hell I could ever imagine. You wouldn't have anything to look forward too. Why do religious people want to live eternally? The fact that we will die someday is the whole reason that life is so precious. Why waste your life worrying about what happens when we die instead of enjoying the short time that you get to live? It seems to me that religion is a waste of a life. You will get more out of your 80+ years than you will in an eternity just by opening up your mind.

  • Southern U.S. Atheists?

I'm specifically interested in how atheists from the southern U.S. are treated. Have you been assaulted verbally or physically? Are you afraid to come out about it? What's the weirdest thing anyone has said/done to you? Feel free to answer even if you aren't from the south.

  • The creation museum in Kentucky extremely bothers me...?

Does anyone else not see a huge problem with this ridiculousness? It's embarrassing to America. I think this museums existence has a direct impact on the horrendous science scores our students receive compared to the rest of the world. There were over 1 million visitors to the museum within the first 3 years it was open. It's not like people aren't showing up. We have progressed so far as a society, yet America is starting to fade behind. I think it is because we are such a religious country. I just can't understand how people can be brainwashed by this crap. The very little we can prove and understand about our existence can completely destroy anything that any religion has ever taught. I know not all Christians believe in creationism, but still call themselves christian. How is that even possible?....I'm starting to ramble, but I was just curious about peoples thoughts on the subject. Christian and non-christian alike. The subject has been on my mind for a while. I can't seem to find anyone to have an intelligent conversation with.....I'm obviously an Atheist, I'm not questioning my Christian faith or anything. I shouldn't have to feel proud to be a free-thinker in America, but I am. I still do love my country though.

  • Is an hourly wage of $30-$35 enough to live comfortably in Sydney or Melbourne?

I would be working full-time at least 38 hours per week. I'm not familiar with the cost of living in these cities as I'm not from Australia. I would be living alone in a one-bedroom flat. Could I afford to live in a decent neighborhood? Which city is more expensive?

  • What is the best language learning software?

I want to learn German. I hear Rosetta Stone is over-rated and I don't really feel like shelling out that much money when there are a lot of cheaper options. I would like to hear some opinions from people who have had either good or bad experiences trying to learn a language using software. Also, what are some other good ways I can learn German besides using software. I live in the states, and I'm really serious about learning. Immersion isn't really an option here, but I will be traveling to Germany for 6 weeks in 2013, and I would like to learn as much as possible before then. And, yes I know everyone in Germany can speak English so save it. This is more of a personal learning experience more than anything.

  • What are people in Denmark like?

I really want to visit Denmark at the end of summer. Unfortunately, I've been hearing that Danes are really polite, but are extremely shy and introverted. When I travel, I like to meet locals. I don't travel so much for the tourist attractions, but to see what people in other countries are like, and to learn the culture and language. Are Danes really that hard to talk to, or is what I'm hearing actually rubbish?

  • What are the best pubs in Putney, London?

I'll be staying in Putney, alone, for 2 weeks in May. What are some quiet, laid back pubs where I can meet some locals. I'm also assuming Putney isn't crowded with tourists, which is what I'm hoping for. I travel to hang out with locals, not other tourists. I'm a 26 y.o. male, American, if it really matters. Thanks.
