Workout Plan Help: Running + Lifting?
So here's the deal.
I'm 16, and I try to run two miles a day, except Sunday. Normally I run on a treadmill in my house, but when it's nice out I run outside. I run one mile in 7:40 (I know it's slow but that's why I'm running). My dad just bought some dumbbells (about 10lbs) and I decided to start using them.
So should I "lift weights" before or after running. I don't plan on "lifting weights" too extraneously... Or taking protein powder or anything like that. I'm just trying to get in shape and might as well work on my upper body.
Extra Info:
I weigh about 165lbs and am 5'11"-6'0", I can do 6 pull ups, and I don't have any abs. I'm not fat or chubby, but I'm not skinny.
I'd love to run outside, but I live in WA, so it's always rainy and cold. I am currently running outside since it's summer. Also, I'd like to run everyday, it's meditative and nice.
I don't have a gym card and don't plan on doing extraneous workouts, I just want to get in shape using simple techniques (push ups, sit ups, pull ups, squats, lunges, etc.)

monday- upper body workout: running
tuesday- lower body workout: abs
wednesday- running
thursday- upper body workout: abs
friday- lower body workout: running
-also, run outside, not on a treadmill. its better for you
-monday and friday are sprint workouts. wednesday should be a long run
-lift 1st, then run for abs
-run 1st then lift for running

Theres not much you can do mate, if you arent willing to sacrifice a little bit. Running in the rain isnt bad at all. You should lift weights after the workout. I would say:
Mon- Long run
Tues- Recovery Run, Weights,
Wed- interval work out
Thurs- Recovery run
Friday- Long Run

It doesn't really matter whether you lift before or after you run. Whatever floats your boat. But since the running seems to be your priority, lift weights second. btw, that's what i do.
