Why isn't Romney's religion being attacked?
Back in 2008's election, all we heard about was Rev. Jeremiah Wright, all day, all night. The message seemed to be that you didn't want to elect an angry black man who thought like Wright does. Now Romney, a member of the biggest cult in the U.S., is running for president, and nobody has even brought up his religion. Do you think it's just a matter of time, or is Mormonism going to be talked about only in hushed voices and behind closed doors?
Yes, Catholicism and all Christian faiths are, in my opinion, cults as well. But in terms only of their widespread acceptance, Mormonism is still a big mystery to many people.
And though they technically are Christian, Mormons have many practices and beliefs that are not shared among other Christian sects, which I think if brought to light for most Americans would be very disturbing.

Up until Romney actually clinched the nomination, the right-wing fundies were desperately running an "anybody but Romney" campaign, but all of their "champions" fell before Romney's organization and money. There were plenty of the fundies that opposed him (and many still do) because of his religion, but they would vote for the devil himself if Satan had a chance to beat Obama.

I think it's because it's still a Christian religion and if you start attacking Mormonism you open the doors for all other Christian cults.

Although I'm a Christian and know Mormonism is a cult, it wasn't Obama's religion that was being attacked. It was the evil friendships he held with wicked men; Jeremiah Wright being only one of them.
Unfortunately, Obama's Muslim religion wasn't attacked!

It might be because the religious right conservatives (who now 'have to' back romney) control so much of the media in your country.
