Should we be praying for the alleged Colorado movie theater shooter?

Christians are to love, and pray for, their enemies.

So while we pray for all the victims, for law enforcement, and for everyone else hurt by this, should we also pray for the man who did the shooting?

By christian logic one should pray for anyone who has done wrong.

Does it make a difference? Only in the christian mind as "they" feel better some how.

My thoughts are reserved for the victims and their families as it seems that god blinked and did not see this one coming. The victims and families need are far more important than those fo the shooter.

The shooter needs to be remembered as the coward he is. Shooting innocents from the back is an assumed safe place and in the dark, while wearing ballistic vests. This was an act of coward is and in my book he should receive no mercy!

Yes we should pray for all the families and the victims we should also be praying that God's will be done and that he would see us all thought his time of trouble. We should also be praying for the man who did the shooting. We should pray for every lost sole and pray that the people involved in this are able to forgive him because it says we should for give 7x70 every day. To forgive someone can help you sometimes more than anyone. There is a song that say's "Lord won't you forgive them they don't know what they are doing, Lord give me grace to forgive them cause I feel like the one losing." We should pray that something good can be made out of this tragedy. Hard times are when we need God the most and also the times when we tend to fall away. I would pray that these people draw closer to God not further away.

(Just going to put out there that I am agnostic)

Personally, I think Christians should pray for the shooter, as well. It's obvious that he's facing some degree of difficulty, mentally, because of disorders or just going through rough times. We don't know. But I've always thought that Christianity was about seeing every point of view, even if you don't agree with it, and respecting everyone regardless of your own personal bias.

Oh ok properly he's resembling those different mass murderers, be it many have been probably at recent. i come across it worrying the way you pit the blame on homosexuality whilst that's in basic terms one case or 2 circumstances. What approximately heterosexual human beings whom go on a capturing spree? Are you purely going to enable it bypass in basic terms reason it would not lower back up your theory that homosexuals are sinful or undesirable? if so ,wow, this is in basic terms unhappy. you're able to desire to think related to the numerous different homosexuals whom are type, effective, and secure minded human beings, resembling counting the heterosexuals whom are sane, whom are happy and would not dream of occurring a killing spree. If I have been to think of such as you i might say all heterosexuals have been rapists, considering the fact that there have been some circumstances of a heterosexual pastor whom raped some youngsters, be it the toddler replaced into male or lady. Now you may probably say yet this is an entire distinctive situation, besides the guy could have been heterosexual yet on your case you may probably say he likely replaced into gay. Excuses, excuses, be it he had a kinfolk, youngsters, a spouse he cherished, you may likely insist that he replaced into gay,in basic terms interior the closet,no longer that he had themes, enjoyed feeling extra desirable and that replaced into twisted interior the way he theory. How stupid you're in the way you think of.

Well did he have to walk in there and shoot at people? No, so why would you pray for somebody like that?

Prayer doesn't actually work but even so why bother praying for the murderer? Nobody forced him to do that. I know some people do get weird fantasies about doing disturbing things like that but nobody forced them to pull the trigger, did they?

According to Christianity the non-Christian victims will be going to "hell" but if the murderer converts to Christianity then he could go to heaven! Why would you follow a religion like that!? Seriously......

Yes we should. Pray that he comes to terms with what he did and truly learns to regret what he did (not just the concequences towards him).

I believe so because I forgive the man for the shooting. Obviously Satan got to him, to do bad deeds, just as Satan does. Only God will b the judge if his fate.

  • If I prayed, I would have prayed he spends the rest of his life in prison.
