Many people don't take the remedial classes seriously, and end up failing out as a result. Although they cover the easiest material of any college course, they have the highest fail rates at most schools. You need to prepare for class (do the reading and practice problems), go to class, take good notes, ask questions when you get confused (don't wait until right before the exam, and don't care what people think of you for asking questions). Study for tests, do the homework and redo it when you get it back to understand where you went wrong, and ask for help early in the essay writing process. College is about taking responsibility for your own work. Be responsible and professors will be happy to help you.

To add to what Eri says

All colleges have a tutoring center. I suggest going the first week of classes.

You do need to keep up a good GPA to stay in college. If it is low, you could be denied for second semester or be on probation.

Go to all classes. keep up with your work. Keep a schedule. write lists. Know what you need to do each week and each day.

Meet other student's from the same classes. studying with other students can really help. Study at the library.

"Are AP categories as tough as truly university categories" - I'd say sure right here. In many circumstances the books we utilized in AP while I used to be in top university have been used on the University of South Carolina. My roommate Freshman 12 months, a Biology main who had taken AP Biology in top university, used to be tutoring any person in BIOL a hundred and one and he stated the fabric used to be usually the identical. "According to my AP biology trainer, top university AP categories train greater than do university stage categories" - I'd say that is beautiful correct too. The corresponding tuition categories are ordinarily the most important categories at Universities. A unmarried component to ENGL a hundred and one on the University of South Carolina had over one hundred pupils and used to be most commonly divided into smaller businesses taught by way of TAs. My AP English elegance in top university had approximately 30 pupils - in which do you suppose studying is extra effortlessly facilitated on typical? "If it's actual, does that imply that when you get A's in AP categories you're prone to additionally get A's in university" - It probably a well indicator of the way you can do in one hundred-stage categories, now not always in higher-stage categories. Keep in brain too that at a few universities, a well (three or greater) AP experiment rating method you'll be able to get credit score for its corresponding elegance with out honestly taking it. As for higher stage categories, getting a four or a five at the AP European History Exam does not warranty an "A" in "The French Revolution and Napoleon" while you get to university, however more often than not you can have a greater expertise of the fundamentals of the fabric.
