Sprained ankle on both sides? ?
So ive sprained both my ankles multiple times befor. Ive even bruised the bone bad the first time i sprained my ankle and im used to it by now i know you have to elevate it and put ice, put a wrap for compression and all that but yesterday i was playing around with my boyfriend and i knocked into a mop bucket and my ankle bent in. It hurt this time more than ive ever twisted it and i started sweating and tears started coming out of my eyes from the pain and im a type of person who can take alot of pain without so much as flinching so i immediatley put ice on it after and after a while i could some what walk on my toes of the injured foot aslong as i didnt put much pressure on it for more than a second per step and i wrapped it. It was difficult sleeping and i kept waking up but anyways i woke up this morning and started checking my ankle and i noticed that both sides of my ankle hurts. The outside more so but the inside was painful too so ive been trying to move it and i could slightly roate it but i cant put it flat down and i cant move it outwards. Its also harder today to walk on it even on my toes i move like one or two steps on my toes but then i either have to support myself using the walls or anything beside me or i have to hop and now im noticing my other leg and ankle are starting to hurt from constaintly putting all my weight on one leg. Im not fat either. i mean im not skinny or anything but im not fat. Should i get an exray or should i just continue iceing it and wrapping it and soaking it in hotwater because i would like to avoid it if i could because they always tell me to do all that stuff anyways and i always end up having to go through the painful x rays where they twist and turn your injured ankle in ways not even a normal ankle is supose to turn..... so your advice is apreciated should i get it x rayed? And also, is it possible to sprain both sides of your ankle at once?

Spraining you ankle inward can do all sorts of unpleasant damage, like tearing ligaments and stretching tendons. If there are bruises both on the inside and outside of your ankle, they're indications of blood leaking from damaged blood vessels. The bruising will typically fade away in ten days to two weeks, but with as much pain as you seem to be suffering, you should probably see your doctor for an X-ray.

Once you've injured your ankle they are more likely to be injured again, as you have probably already guessed. I would get it checked anyway, a sprain is more painful than a break so it makes it difficult to be sure. Don't try and walk on it until you know what's going on in there.
