Ethical to sell an academic paper?

Creationist Kent Hovind is well-known for his embarrassing Ph. D. dissertation from Patroit University. Now, he has written another one while in jail, but plans to sell it as a book through a web site.

Is it ethical for him to do this, could he lose his doctorate? Also, are you allowed to have someone help you do some work, such as typing document/draft?

Update:

This dissertation is different from the the one for Patriot. The doctorate is from a prison program.

He doesn't have a real doctorate in the first place, so it's not like the fake, defunct school is going to retract it. But no, that's not unethical. Many academics write books and sell them. While you won't get paid for publishing in an academic journal, many journals charge YOU to publish your paper - that's also not consider unethical. Yes, people can help you do research and type it up. If they're just typing it, it's normal to pay them. If they're helping with the research, they're normally made a co-author.
