Nook or Kindle? And what type of it?
I'm getting a Nook or Kindle, but I'm not sure which one would be better for me.
I've been leaning more toward the Kindle, but now I'm not too sure. I also know there are all different models of them and to be honest, I'm just a bit overwhelmed here.
What I know I want:
1) With a lot of free/cheap books (which I know both Kindle and Nook has)
2) I do NOT want a back light
3) I don't care if it's not in color (as I said, I don't want a back light)
4) One with a lot of the out of copyright books
5) I don't care if it has internet access or anything, I just want to read books on it. I don't want tablet or anything.
So, which is better for me, a Nook or Kindle? And, if you know what specific type (Nook Simple Touch, Kindle Touch, Kindle keyboard, etc.) would you recommend. Thanks!
Also, a question - I heard the Nook with "Glowlight" is good because it has a light that adjusts to the darkness/light so you can read at night without the light and whatever, but does that hurt your eyes? And is it still easy to read in the sun? Like, does the Glowlight turn off?
(If you can't answer that one, it's fine. Obviously I know people probably won't be able to if they've never seen one)

I have a Nook simple touch and I like it a lot. It's just an e-ink eReader without any of the fancy tablet options, which is what I wanted. I teach customers how to use eReaders as part of my job, so I get to play around with a lot of them. The Kindles are very nice, too. I've used the ones with the keyboard for work. I think the page turning is a bit smoother on the Nook, but the displays are equally nice. I read mine outside in the sun and there's no glare, it's just like a page in a printed book.
When I bought my Nook, Amazon wasn't allowing libraries to lend eBooks in Kindle format, which influenced my decision. But now you can get free library books (if your local library subscribes to a digital lending service like OverDrive) on Kindles as well as Nooks, iPads, Sony Readers, etc. So that's a great resource for newer free books, although you might have to wait for more popular ones.
Pretty much all of the books that are out of copyright are available in Kindle and Nook compatible formats. If you take a look at gutenberg.org you'll see what I mean.
I know both Amazon and B&N have sales on eBooks, and you can usually get some good deals. B&N also does a free Nook book Friday, where they have a book you can download for free, and sometimes there are some pretty good ones. There's more info about that program here:

If your most effective target is to learn, then you definately will have to keep away from the Kindle Fire. Yes, it's "brilliant" and a knock-off of the iPad, but it surely could be like studying a booklet off of a laptop display- an excessive amount of glare and too brilliant (this could stress your eyes). I have no idea a ton approximately the Nook, however I do have a Kindle contact and I adore it. Kindle Touch: I purchased this for $one hundred (with out 3g). I purchased the Wi-Fi variant rather of splurging at the $a hundred and fifty contact considering in all honesty, I determine I'm no longer going to want the 3G, considering I have Wi-Fi at my condo. I may not be at the street in need of to down load a booklet and skim immediate instantly, so I stored a few cash. I love the Kindle Touch with distinctive presents (booklet of the day, offers, coupons, and so on.) and will learn out within the daylight. The Touch is fine, it certainly not dies (remains charged for no less than a month) and may be very long lasting and safe. This is the product I advocate to loved ones and peers. The drawbacks: there is not any gentle, so that you can not learn at nighttime. However, you'll purchase a clip on gentle for approximately $10 and clip it to the case (what I do) or when you discover one to suit the e-reader you'll do that additionally. Do no longer waste cash on a product that's $50 pointing out it is the most effective gentle in order to are compatible the e-reader.

as for your requirement I think that a nook is better for you.
nook supports the common books format so that you can download books anywhere only if the format is epub.but kindle has the specila format and you can only buy books in amazon, furthermore the majority of books are payable.
but sorry I do not know the specific type for you, thus I provide you some book sites that as soon as you get your ereader you can enjoy books.

1> Both have it.
2> Nook does have a model with out backlight
3> Still you can get both
4> Both have the free books
5> Kindle being a eReader does have an internet browser (experimental browser)
I would recommend Kindle Over Nook.
