What did I do to my ankle??

I twisted my ankle a lot running today but i was able to keep running after I twisted it. Later, I tried walking and it hurts. If I move my ankle certain ways it hurts. Will it feel better tomorrow so I can run?

As soon as you twisted your ankle you should have stopped running, because whatever injury you caused (a sprain, or badly hurting a tendon or ligament), small or big, you made it worse by keeping running. I suggest you apply some hot damp towel around it and give a soft massage with an ointment of your preference - anything with mentol and check out if it has aspirin in case you're allergic to it. The damp heat around your ankle will tenderize the muscles and open the skin's pores, thus making it easier to absorb the medication and to activate circulation with the massage. And I strongly recommend you don't run for a couple of days, so that you don't make your injury worse. And if you've used otc antiinflamatories before, perhaps you should give it a try. It'll ease the pain. I hope you feel better soon.

well i sugest you apply some heat rub or some sports cream then strap it with a bandage tightly to support it

and i dont recomend running on it because the damage might be worse than you think but it sounds like you've just sprained it and thats not to bad

i would just walk lightely on it for a few days until you cant feel any pain in that area

    hope this helps

(if pain persists i recomend seing a doctor or nurse for any ligament or muscle damage)
