Is a psychiatrist worth it?

As we grow old, so does our craziness ( I believe atleast my craziness has grown over time).. I have done many crazy things and it has formed a concrete pattern so far, in that I don't trust people around me easily, I behave like am some sort of an agent! which I am not and have never been !! But, I feel its time, I took out everything part by part and discussed everything with a good psychiatrist....

But I first want to get your opinion on how useful/expensive it was and whether this is truly worth spending so much for ! Please advice
