What do you think about the new green lantern?
Don t you feel that the new Muslim lantern is a bit too far cry for attention into the current political weather, I mean changing Alan scott to gay is one thing, but just after all the incident but Muslims recently isn t it pushing it a bit too far?

The new character Baz was revealed back in May, well before the Libyan protests and the anti-Muslim film. His first major appearance was Green Lantern #0 (Sept 5), a week before the protests.
It appears DC is building up to their new major event, The Trinity War, and Baz plays a major role in it. Other comics have been leading to it (Justice League, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern Corps) so they couldn't necessarily delay the release of the main Green Lantern comic without affecting the other comics.
Recently, DC delayed Batman Inc, back in July because of the Aurora shooting, and the comic had violent content. Because Batman Inc existed in a separate storyline from the other Batman comics, DC was able to delay without problem.
