How come no one seems to pick a best answer?
I know sometimes I have a hard time with Yahoo letting me pick my best answer. When I ask a question I always try to pick a best answer even if for some reason it won't let me. IMO if someone takes the time to give an answer then the asker should have the courtesy to pick one. Is there a reason people don't? Am I the only one who finds this annoying? I'm not trying to pick a fight here, just wondering.
@ amyhpete, I agree with people voting for them selves especially when you see someone with 5 thumbs up and someone with 3 thumbs down and that's the one picked by "voters"! I'll vote for myself sometimes but only if after reading the other answers and I think mine is still the best. Often its not and I will vote for the one I think is!

It's annoying but far less annoying than people choosing the worse possible answer.
I answer alot in photogrpahy and we often get these "What do you think of my photography ... be honest." Invariably, the pictures suck and you take the time to do a proper critique. 5 or 6 people do the same and we all the 5 -10 thumbs up but there's always one or two people who are gushers "OMFG~!!!@!@ DAYZE R' AWSOME!@!@!!" and invariably ... the poster chooses one of the insipid gushers ... that REALLY annoys me.
Don;t choose one of the perfectly valid answers, choose the answer that strokes your ego the most!
Or worse yet ... people who ask a question and when they gfet their answer they DELETE THE QUESTION!
... ok, I'll stop ranting now.

It bothers me a little. I can understand that the majority of the questions left to vote on are one and done people, trolls that don't care, or maybe people that just forgot. I have been guilty of letting a question go, even though I meant to pick an answer, but I was busy or sick...it happens.
I think I can understand another reason for it, too, and it has to do with the answer that gave out a bunch of questions that don't make sense, LOL, like the "Where can I get married outside in Kentucky." Most of the answers aren't that nice sometimes, and upon realizing that their question was silly, probably they don't want to bother coming back to it. I get really sick of the random questions, too, like "How much does Such and Such market charge for a cake?" What, you can't call and ask?

I agree - I find that majority definitely go to the vote. I also notice that some users (one I'm thinking in particular, but I will keep that to myself) have different accounts and I am 100% confident that they use them to vote their own answer... which is fine, clearly they have time on their hands.
I asked a question last week however, and I picked a best answer and typed out a response for it... but the next day I checked and it had gone to a vote, and my answer was gone?? May be a glitch.

I find it slightly annoying, but I didn't get to Level 7 and top contributor through being chosen Best Answer. I got there by going back through the In Voting questions I've answered and voting for myself. I got to 27,000 points in five years (because I take a lot of long hiatuses from YA) doing that, mostly. Easy 10 points when no one else bothers.
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

I too find it annoying although I have been guilty of it, depending on what device im using sometimes yahoo won't let me pick a favorite one and then i just forget- i know that sounds lame and i REALLY do appreciate all the answers i get and am not trying to be rude- its just what happens.

I agree. You know what else I think is odd? When someone asks a question like, "Where can I have an outdoor wedding in Kentucky?", and people answer with - "We need more details" "What size wedding?" "What type of wedding?" "What time of the year?" and the Asker never answers? It's like they've totally abandoned their question - What's the point of THAT?
