Puppy's stomach is gurgling?

My 9 week old puppy finished eating and then went straight to her bed. Her tummy is making these gurgling noises. She wasn't eating her food before, but she was eating the cat food (whenever she could sneak some) and treats just fine. So I mixed in some wet puppy food with her dry food and she ate most of it. Am I being a worry mommy or is her tummy just upset or is she just digesting?

Your right about the digestion and stomach upseting stuff. I wouldn't be worried if i were u though. If it is an upset stomach, it's really not that bad and will get over in 2 days or less. Feeding it more won't help. It's just like if u had a stomache. If it's digestion, it should be over in 1-4 hours.

    Hope this helps.

  • My blue Heeler puppy is 3 months old and she did the same thing. Puppies have a really hard time digesting canned dog and puppy food. it is better to just feed them dry kibble. After she had the gurgling noises my puppy went to bed, Continued having the noises. After a while she woke up; vomited and then had diarrhea. So ever since I have fed her dry kibble and she has been fine ever since. I hope this information helps you.

It's definitely a concern worthy of a call to your vet. I'm glad to hear he's had his vaccines, because the first thing that popped into my mind was Parvo. We lost a puppy to Parvo and it started with diarrhea. It was heartbreaking! I wish you well with your new pet. Merry Christmas!
