Issues with condoms...?
My boyfriend and I were opening a new condom to have sex, I held it up to the light to check for damage or holes and thought I saw one. To be safe, we opened a new one.
After we'd had sex with the new condom, I looked at the other again and made a purpose hole in it to see what a holed condom looks like. Using a drawing pin- several holes were made in the useless condom and to my horror when I held it up to the light, the holes weren't visible!
I'm shocked that this happened, I'd have thought they would be clear as day. My worry now is any condom I use, even if it looks fine, still could have minute holes in?
The condoms were in date& of Durex make.
They are meant to be 98% safe but how can they be so safe when you can't even see purposeley made holes in them!?

You're right- a visual inspection of a condom is usually not enough to ensure it hasn't been compromised, unless it's a significantly large enough hole or tear.
Condoms do not come damaged, however- any damage they sustain is going to be after packaging- during shipping or by the folks who purchase it. That's why you are recommended to do a pillow test, where you gently squeeze the closed package to be sure that there is a pocket of air in it, to show you that it hasn't been punctured. If the packet has been punctured, there is risk to the condom, and you should throw it away; if it hasn't been punctured, then you can assume the condom inside is okay (remembering, of course, to still check to make sure it isn't dry, grainy, stiff, brittle, sticky, or discolored when you take it out.
Hope that helps!

First of all good on you for trying to be safe.
Now in any case you should really understand that multiple methods of birth control could even all fall through. Condoms are the best "bang for your buck" if you will. just because any condom has no noticeable holes does not mean that they will fall through. also understand that if the holes are that small then a hole will be barley any threat. do not be any means put on two, but if you are worried the best thing you can do is combine condoms with an other method such as spermicidal lube or birth control pills or an other form. Also make sure you are putting the condom on correctly.

I have an issue with condoms too. I hate them but I don't want babies! Plus everytime I try to make balloon animals for kids their parents freak out. WTF?
