A year in a human life is roughly equal to nine years of a cat's. Hence the expression nine lives.

No, they do not have 9 lives. The rumor started because cats are good at landing on all 4's when they fall. But it does not always happen.

They die once, just like we do. Think about it and you'll realize that myth doesn't equal reality.
