Are you familiar with the FDA regulations permitting insect parts and rodent hair in flour Code of Federal Reg?

I realize all civilized countries have regulations and complete removal of foreign substances is impossible. FDA Federal Code of Federal Regulations Part 110 include several products and I picked the flour one ..I posted this question because of a previous question posed about a moth brushing a loaf of bread and the questioner considered my answer trivia and asked me for a source which I had neglected to post.

One of the reasons those contaminants ARE allowed is its almost impossible to avoid them.
think of the cost of removing EVERY single one and yet, none of that makes us ill or effects us in any way.
We eat bugs and bug parts all the time in our fresh produce. Do you really think you got EVERY minute particle of bug doodles off your home grown broccoli or cauliflower....think of all those little crevices..
People are becoming more and more germaphobic and yet there are articles after articles in respected science journals and reports saying how this behavior is harming us.

Well, it isn't quite that simple. There are certain foods that have regulations as to the maximum percentage or parts per billion of contaminants that can be included after processing. Two are catsup/ketchup and peanut butter.
Seems rather gross that any contaminants are allowed, I agree. But that's our system at work.

What is funniest is that people often cite such things as an argument for why there should be no regulation of products. As if unlimited bug parts is better than limited bug parts.

I am familiar with these regulations, and it doesn't bother me at all. It would be impossible to ensure absolutely zero contaminants in our food.
