why can the spell checker not handle walmart?
there are so many off the wall words that it recognizes, and it isn't like walmart is a new place, kmart does not trip the spell checker

Because the YA IT technicians and engineers still have not put the correct spelling of "Wal-Mart" onto the Yahoo "dictionary YeT. At least they've managed to add "Wikipedia" VERY recently. YA was started as a rival to Wikianswers. Wikipedia WAS a competitor. Now Wikipedia is business partner, although there probably is no legal contract making Yahoo and Wikipedia legal business partners.
