Do Repubs really buy into the fantasy about democrats?

No more so than Dems buy into the fantasy about Republicans, i.e. Republicans are racists. Republicans are sexists. Republicans are ageists. Republicans want to take away your SS. Republicans want to take away your Medicare. Republicans want to take away education. Republicans want to starve children. Republicans want to destroy the environment. Republicans want to destroy the middle class. Republicans want the poor to remain poor. Republicans only care about the rich.....blah, blah, blah.

It is a proven fact that when taxes are raised on business owners both small and large that they cut jobs. Let me ask you this, if someone said "you are going to pay $100,000 more in taxes this year than you did last year" What changes would to make to your business? Would you cut your own pay in order to pay those taxes? Or would you find somewhere else to make cuts? This is the question business owners have to answer and most times they cut jobs. That is why the unemployment rate is up right now. I am not delusional enough to think that ALL democrats are poor and live on government assistance. However I do think that most democrats pay too much attention to social issues and don't look at the big picture. I am an independent, and I agree with democrats on most social issues, but social issues don't put food on the table or a roof over my head. You know what does? A job! And an increasing unemployment rate isn't going to help anyone. All Obama knows how to do is spend, spend, spend. He acts like there is no limit as to how much we can spend! I guess to him there isn't because we can just sell ourselves off and borrow the money from other countries. We can't afford Obamacare, we can't afford to invest in anymore money pits. We need to invest in our own country and focus on what will get us out of this mess and Obama fails to see that.

Republicans and conservatives seem to actually believe the propaganda that they are constantly fed. That propaganda includes extremely derogatory references to Democrats. Some of it is just slightly veiled racism.

For instance, liberals are the most highly educated identifiable political segment of the population and have high incomes in general but I see cons on this site referring to liberals as waiting for handouts or as moochers. These cons can't even correctly understand the simple-minded propaganda with which they are being manipulated. It is really rather sad.

One of the main components of the current conservative movement is to constantly attack the political opposition, no matter how ridiculous the grounds. Ad hominem attacks are one of their major weapons. Then cons get so upset when liberals and Democrats strike back.

Fox News and Talk Radio sell them this garbage and they buy it. When someone like Romney repeats this idiotic nonsense you realize that the attack propaganda has become acceptable to mainstream conservatives. That is a matter of concern.

Social justice comes from freedom and free enterprise. Democrats are opposed to these things.
