Why do people look down on people who eat raw meat?

It's perfectly natural! lol, unless if it was in the fridge for a couple of days...

SOME people think it is absolutely gross, I mean, this has got to be the most absurd thing ever.

Have you ever ate raw meat? Such as sushi?

Even the thought of eating Raw meat makes me want to throw up. Truly. This goes back many years, my employers sent me over to Belgium to train a new agent. He invited me to his home for dinner one day and he was boasting about what a great cook his new - and very young - wife was. Any way, we were seated around the table and in she comes with this huge steak on a platter. My colleague cut it into 3 pieces and the carving knife had barely broke the surface when the blood started oozing out. Now i am a good guest, will eat anything put in front of me, but that was the most disgusting meat i have ever eaten in my whole life and i still shudder at the memory. 'Rare' would not describe it, i think it was running around the fields half an hour before hitting the table.

I also hate Sushi (yes i know that is not meat), disgusting.

But each to their own, if eating raw meat or fish is your thing that is up to you. Just don't invite me to dinner, please.

It may seem natural, but it's not anymore. It's pretty dangerous, especially depending on the type you eat. Sashimi is raw fish, sushi is not. Sure, cavemen ate raw meat, but the animals were not consuming all these chemicals that animals are today. Also, a lot more diseases have come about, and raw meat contains a lot of bacteria. You don't know if it's safe or not. Usually, the fresher the safer, and if you know where the meat came from and how long it's been out, you have a lesser chance of getting sick. It really depends on the type of meat though.

Yes.....I have to agree with the post that stated that sushi isn't raw. You don't know what you're talking about, and your grammar isn't so hot either.

Eating raw meat is for animals dude, not people; people do not have the same kinds of enzymes and digestive processes animals do.

Animal meat can be filled with all types of flukes, and parasites and other things that would make you very, very unhappy. Some of these organisms, once in your system can NOT be eradicated and will do whatever damage they will do, leaving you paralyzed, or worse.

Eating one piece of raw mean can mean a great deal of serious health issues, or worse.

The meat you purchase at the store is treated.....it's also riddled with all kinds of bacteria, but it's treated, so you may get away with eating it raw, but I have purchased fish from a supermarket only to get it home to cook and found worms in it.

Taking it back to the store and telling those dumbasses about it they didn't believe me until I showed it to them. They offered me replacement fish.....and I'm like...seriously? I got my money back. People are idiots

    They have never tried it.

Technically sushi is fish, not meat!

I love my steaks blue. I tried one in France and was amazed at how tender and tasty it was. Mum hates the idea and has hers incinerated!
