Is smelling chewing tobacco bad for you?

I have chewing tobacco. I dont chew though. I dont sniff it either (or use it as snuff). I just like the smell of it because it is wintergreen flavor. Does smelling the tobacco cause any bad health stuff?

No not at all. If you like smelling tobacco, get a pouch of pipe tobacco to smell. That will be good for you.

Chewing tobacco does seem to have a sickening, almost poisonous odor. I dipped/chewed for a year or so, but was a long-time smoker (20+ years) until just a few years ago.

Just logically, smelling it shouldn't cause any problems, but it does have a sort of toxic quality to it.

I don't think it would, but it might. I don't know. Can't you get some wintergreen mints and smell them instead? I think that mints would be safer. Also, the temptation to chew it or use it as snuff is stronger when you have it around.

But, I don't think just having it there for the smell is actually harmful. :)
