My cat seems to love me more when I'm in the bathroom?
My cat Ziva is a little over a year old, and for as long as we've had her (since she was eight weeks), she's liked us best when we're trying to use the toilet.
Ziva is not a cuddly cat, never has been. She dislikes being held; attempting to pet her usually results in her biting or running away; and if she wants to hang out with us, she sleeps on a blanket or piece of discarded clothing near us rather than on our laps. However, as soon as I go into the bathroom, she wants in. If she can't open the door, she paws at it until I let her in. Once she's in, she rubs all over my legs, demands to be petted, and often jumps up on my lap. It's a little awkward, but I let her do it because it's the only time she's the cuddly cat I thought she was when we brought her home. As soon as I leave the bathroom, she's back to being the same aloof kitty she usually is.
She is our only pet. We try to give her lots of attention, but she doesn't want it (unless we're trying to poo). She's always been curious about what we do in the bathroom, but she isn't like this when I'm brushing my teeth or getting in the shower.
Is there something I can do to redirect this behavior, or this is just a Ziva-specific quirk I have to live with? I don't mind, but my mother is pretty disturbed about the whole thing, haha.
Ziva isn't my first cat, I've had several. But none of them have done anything like this. It's like she's a completely different cat when I'm trying to use the toilet! Ah, well. Looks like that might be the only time I'll ever be able to get affection from her, so I guess I'll take it where I can get it, haha.

I have 6 cats, but only one does this. I suppose it can be in view that she knows that i'm going to remain put for a couple of moments and figures this is a excellent time to lure me for some severe petting! LOL Cats are eager about toilets. I've another cat with a very quiet nature. When she will get upset with me, she gets a sock out of the abate and puts it in the commode!

I have a cat that's exactly like yours in her behavior, except she doesn't love us in the bathroom either. I have a male cat who is 3 years her junior and she hates him too. Both of my cats are pampered and always get the best of everything but still they show no love. So if your cat shows you love when you're sitting on the toilet, accept it and be happy because some people get none. I know it's weird but cats are really difficult to train, unlike dogs who are pack animals and want to follow and please the 'pack leader.'

For the biggest part, just get used to it. That is just cat. I've had cats all of my life and they have all acted the same way.
