Listen,
The Mayan Style of Time Keeping, (the making of calendars), is Based Heavily on Cycles. That means that just as Winter gives Rise to Spring, the Mayan Calendars Cycle Back to the Beginning. They Based their Counts on the Movement of the Stars in the Night Sky. Actually the Calendar that the 2012 Hype is on about actually has already Ended and Restarted it's Count Numerous Times since it was first Created.
Also, the man who started all of the 2012 theories, his name being Jose Arguelles, never mentioned that his theory was that the world would end. He, being of a very New Age State of Mind, claimed that the World would Transform and Transcend in Energy and Pretty Much Have a Paradigm Shift in our Consciousness and Perceptions of Reality.
The people who have jumped on the 2012 bandwagon are Crackpots and Charlatans. The Fear Mongering and the Media Outlet are merely for Attention and Money. Even the Modern Day Mayans have been Upset at how many are Capitalizing, (Making Profits), on Their Ancient Culture.
Several Recent Discoveries have been Rather Recently found shedding light on the truth that the Mayan Calendar Continues on After December 21st, 2012. All of the Bogus Theories one can find on the internet are completely bunk. You will find no merit to the crazy ideas floating around.
That said, you may relax and no longer worry. The biggest concept to understand is that the Mayan Calendar is Cyclical like the Seasons are. The End of the World Claims are Strawmen, (no real substance to them). And Everyone is basically just repeating a lie out of sheer ignorance and laziness. Nobody is willing these days to take the time to dig into the back story, but when you do you'll see that there is nothing to this 2012 "Urban Legend".

The world will not end. If it was then it would have already. It had been said to end tons of times by now, but had it? No. AND if it does end, i hope i am last to die, so i will see what happened.

The world will end when God wants it too. NO ONE KNOWS when the world will end, not even God's angels know.

Listen, this is a common misunderstanding people have. They think the world is going to end because it was predicted by the super intelligent Mayans. Well on the fact that Mayans were intelligent is true, the rest is bull****, they did not predict the world would end.Their calendar simply stopped, at a point where it restarted again. Exactly what our calendar does at the end of december, it is just theirs was slightly longer.
Our technology, although many people do not know, is more than capable of informing us of this like this, of course no can predict the future it might happen, but it has a very very very slim chance to do so. No need to anxious about this, there are many dangers every day which could be fatal but they aren't, this is the same.

Personnally I don't think its going to end. Why would it? And that calender **** that says its gonna end is bullshit because it doesn't have leap years so it shouldve ended 13months ago. And NASA has said that there is nothing gonna come towards the earth any time soon. The world should end in years to come!:)

God said "NO ONE KNOWS THE TIME OR HOUR THAT HE WILL COME BACK".. But if you are not religious. Its been plenty of dates that have past that "people say the world going to end" just live your life. And don't. Stress about this nonsense.

I don't get why people are making such a big deal about this. Many of the Mayan artifacts were destroyed by Spanish invaders. Another calendar may have been destroyed or not found yet. Also, it didn't happen in 2000 like predicted before. Why would it happen now?

No the guy that was making the calenders provably died or got tired of making the calender.
