95 Chevy Truck Blend Door Bypass options?

Question

Working on above mentioned truck and have issues with the heat not reaching the defrost side of the blend door/plenum because the Climate Control panel is probably shot. Need a way to over-ride or bypass the electronic control for a few days while the part is on order or I can hunt local yards for panel. Would rather not have to damage the actuator motor assembly itself either-would hate to add more problems onto the list by snapping a nylon gear or over-stopping a motor. 
The Climate Control Panel is a known issue and I might be able to trouble shoot it when my friend shows up with truck,but that seems to be a smoked potentiometer or broken connection to a transistor from what I read. 
So, if there is a way to get the door to swap from cold to hot without major stress just as a stop-gap measure I'd like to hear about it.

Take the actuator off the door (unplug it first)
And move the door by hand it should stay in whatever position u put it in.

You can try this , get a chiltons repair manual $15.00 bucks and look in the hvac part and on the climate control on that truck a think has a bleand air system and it has stepper moters to operate the bleand air door for the heat _a/c door and i think if you pull the glove box out look in and just to the left will be a small cover over a box with wires comming out of it and that is the blend air stepper moter for the blend air door i think i hope this helped ya and good luck oh if you can get the blend air door to go over to the evap coil to let the heat come in un plug the stepper moter and you will be good for the winner .
