When something so wonderful happens that they can't express it, they often cry with joy. Crying is a way of showing intense emotion.

Any overwhelming emotional response can cause tears. Some people cry; others laugh.

because what about those people who cant cry when they are sad? they need to cry sometime. oh and what about zebras? they only cry when they are happy. but not monkeys. they never cry.
