Where to get Venison in Brockville, ON.?
This isn't a joke question. I really want some deer, and I don't know where to find it. I don't care if it's pre-cooked, raw, or frozen. Or whether it's chops, or venison jerky. I just really want some venison, and I don't have a hunting licence. I'd prefer to get it from a store so that It's more likely to be cleaned properly.

Google 'butcher shops' or 'game processing' for your area. I haven't seen too many butcher shops who carry it, but some. A game processing service will either have some for sale OR be able to put you in touch with somebody who does. A lot of hunters sell their excess meat, and if you go through a processing service you can be reasonably sure it's been properly cleaned and dressed.
You can also just buy it online, but local and fresh is almost always better (unless you have some type of outbreak in your area) because it's not loaded up with preservatives. Not to mention much cheaper.

Try checking with the butcher at the meat market or grocery store in your area. I would think you'd be able to find venison fairly easily nowadays, since it has become more mainstream.
