Hello, To get a good accurate answer give the brand, model number, installed operating system of the computer when asking a question as all PC's are not the same. If you connect it to a second monitor and the picture is okay it means you have a bad screen, loose cable, loose connection, bad inverter or lamp. If you want to fix it your self there are videos on youtube that show how to do it, but it is not easy. How to repair laptops, Very good. Here is a site that will sell you the parts  http://www.laptopaid.com/  or look on ebay here is another site

heavily all you would possibly want to do is replace the backlight for the liquid crystal exhibit or earlier that examine to make certain if there are defective or lose wires. Get a screwdriver and undo the computer screen and positioned it again see if that permits.
