Is is gay for a man to have his naval pierced?

I know of a hetrosexual bloke who had his naval pierced, and when I asked him about it he said it was for a dare, and looked a bit embarressed and shady about it. He is married with kids.

Is it something gay men do, or is he having a mid-life crisis?

Update:

He has other piercings, and I'm not saying only homosexual males get it done, but if it was for a dare then most people would take it out, and it's been a few years. He has told other people different reasons why he had it done, and didn't tell his family either.

It was obviously not for a dare, if it was for a dare and he did not like it he would take it out. I would never get it pierced, I personally think it is just something girls should get done, I think it looks quite tacky so I would actually prefer if no one got it done.

It is *stereotypically* gay, yes, but piercings are just piercings. There is no direct correlation with homosexuality.

Sexual orientation doesn't have anything to do w/ being pierced or not. I think it's got more to do w/ being stupid. I've got enough holes in my body. I wouldn't intentionally put any more into it.

I don't think it makes him gay, but I think it looks sexy. Maybe he makes up different reasons because he feels it is no one's business.

It is not gay but it is a stoopid thing to do.
