  • How can I stay in Australia longer?

I am in Australia on a 12month working visa. I know I can work 3months doing agricultural work and get an extension, but what are the other ways if you are a UK resident, as I would like to stay for a few more years if possible. Can I apply to do an apprenticeship and be given a different type of visa?

How do I apply to become a resident, and can I stay in Australia while it's being processed?

    Thanks

  • What make t-shirts for tall people (longer)?

I am very tall, and I always struggle finding t-shirts (and jumpers/shirts) that fit properly. I need ones that are longer than average, and the only make I've come across that are is 'Mada', but they don't make as many tee's as they use to.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I have had AAA t-shirts before, which were good, but they soon shrink in the wash, much like DGK.

  • Refueling airplane, can you get off and go to duty free?

I am flying on flight QF1 Heathrow to Melbourne stopping in Singapore for refueling (using the same plane). Do they let everyone off the plane while this is happening, and can you go and buy cigarettes?

The reason I ask is I am not sure if it would be cheaper to buy them at Heathrow or Singapore, if allowed off.

    Thanks

  • Can noise cancelling headphones make Tinnitus worse?

I've read on a few websites/forums they can spike tinnitus and make it worse/louder. Is this true? I've bought some Bose QC-3 headphones as I do a lot of long haul flying and I think they are making my tinnitus worse, but I don't want to make it worse by wearing these type of noise cancelling headphones.

Could the high frequencies they produce to block sound actually harm your ears?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Best noise reduction headphones for flying with tinnitus?

What would you say are the best noise reduction/noise cancelling headphones for flying when you suffer with Tinnitus and don't want to make it worse?

I've read over ear/enclosed types like the Bose QC-15 can make it worse, and the in ear buds are also bad as they can create a seal.

So the on-ear type are the best choice, and I am liking the look of the Bose QC-3's, and seeing as they are the pioneers of this technology, I am thinking they are going to be one of the best?

  • What was this Channel5 program called?

It was only on in the morning on the weekends years ago, and was almost like a docu-soap. It was about two kids (one white with blonde hair one black kid with dreads), and it had a girl in who went onto being in Eastenders, and I think she was on Strictly Come Dancing too, and I think a girl out of The Inbetweeners was in it too....

They got up to all sorts, and it was based in London.

  • Do I need a WWAN card to put a sim in my Dell D630?

I've just bought a top spec Dell D630 laptop. It has WLAN, and also a sim card slot.

Do I have to have a WWAN to be able to use the internet via the sim card? And what UK and Australian network providers support this, or do all of them?

I recently upgraded to Windows7 and had to reinstall all the drivers, so I'm not sure if I have a WWAN already, or how do I find out?

    Thanks,

  • Is is gay for a man to have his naval pierced?

I know of a hetrosexual bloke who had his naval pierced, and when I asked him about it he said it was for a dare, and looked a bit embarressed and shady about it. He is married with kids.

Is it something gay men do, or is he having a mid-life crisis?

  • Ticket for Australian Open Tennis 2013?

I want to get a ticket to the mens Quarter finals at the end of January. I want to see Tsonga, Murray and Nadal play.

If I buy a "Quarter finals - Tues 22 Jan > Wed 23 Jan 2013" ticket, does that give me access to every quarter final? I've never been to a tennis tournament before so a bit clueless.

    Thanks

  • Best way to travel from Melbourne to Brisbane/Cairns?

I have been to Australia a few times now, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, and I'm off again next week until August 10th when I will go to Bali or Singapore on my way home to the UK.

I'll be starting in Melbourne, and spending most of my time there as I will be living with my mate and can have the room until when ever I want. I want to go to Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns while I'm in Australia this time too.

I would like to avoid air travel as I've done a lot this year and it's starting to grate on me and ruin my ears, and I don't really want to hire a car, although I could to get from Cairns to Brisbane, or Brisbane to Cairns, if that's worth driving? How long would that take?

I don't want to spend loads, flights are around $210ASD one way from Melbourne to either city, so that would be my budget, maybe $250. IF I did end up choosing to fly, which should I go to first, Brisbane/GC or Cairns, or doesn't it matter in July?

Would it be a worthwhile journey to do by train, and how long would it take? I believe from Melbourne you go to Sydney, then up the east coast, so I'd be stopping in GC first. What sort of prices are you looking at for a first class ticket?
